Nurture you
We have earned that freedom we live in, now it is time to learn how to use it, to put it into perspective and to make it our own.
In the entire known history, it is the first time that a man can marry another man, a woman can marry another, in many places, countries in the world. If someone wants to stay single, it's possible without being seen as a marginal, merely an independent being. Before, only a century ago, which is nothing on the grand scale of time, we had to be married, to have children, to be "respectable" to fit in.
Those times are over, almost done completely, it's a vision of the past.
We can thrive on our own, build, exist on our own. It is time to freedom and individuality inside the collective. In our western countries, we have a true liberty to navigate our sexualities however we want, we can experiment without attachment, without consequences, well, almost...
The question rising with this new state of things is : What do we do with this?
I have a feeling this is so new to us that we can at times feel lost in the plethora, in this vast field of possibilities.
Now that we are almost free of moral, religious, ethical, biological and legal bounds in this way.
Think about it, no need to be married to have sex with whoever you want, no need to hide, protected sex, less and less judgement apart from a few last jolts. And of course, the inner moral guardian inherent to each and everyone of us, censorship. The inheritance of the sacrosanct religious guilt.
We are learning to let go, to let us be ourselves. Some of us way advanced on this path of freedom than others, some way back, trying to stop this natural process that I call evolution by screaming louder. The inquisition is over. We are done with it. No more.
Sexual revolution came through and I am already contemplating what's next.
In this age where you can buy BDSM attire practically anywhere, when gender equality is almost achieved to fruition. This age is also the only in known history where we speak openly about our feelings, our emotional needs, our inner well-being, with all those therapy flourishing everywhere amongst all the yoga studios, Spas, and so on... and I think that this is the key. It's lying there, just in front of us, like a good old story that everybody knows. Join the bodily needs to the spiritual ones. Join. Recognise. Communicate. Live. Own.
I still see that something is wrong with our sexualities, terribly biased by our common past. Guilt, repression, morals still have a grasp on us, when we are in actuality more free than ever, and with more means to achieve fruition than ever. I see something new happening in the humanity, and I love it!
So what do we do? We live, we love and we learn.
I think we need to take matters in our own hands, use what's there to be used. There is a responsibility to take, but it's one made of pleasure and beauty.
The solution is lying there, waiting for us to be grabbed, I it's fullest. It's time to rip the fruits of our collective labour in a beautiful way. Something has come to maturity.
I see people searching for love everywhere, in every way possible. I see people having repetitive sex, or denying themselves that for the same reasons. Sex on it's own isn't nutritious, it doesn't fulfill any needs of love and connection. The most commonly mistake, in my experience, is to ask a fish to climb on trees and be happy with it.
Sex can only be sex, if you don't throw in other ingredients, it's only going to be sex and nothing more.
Most of the time it leaves you hungry for more because without this salty pinch of love and connection it's something disappointingly tasteless and mundane. Salt is a base ingredient in alchemy. Without even a tiny but essential amount of love, presence and connection, it's a recipe for failure. You've ate, but you're missing the nourishment. That's why you keep going, and you will do until you realise what you need and offer it to yourself.
We need to learn how to connect.
